As I promised… a “not-so-fresh” news to share with you! Last year I was interviewed by a university magazine called “Exp” (nickname for “Experiência”, “experience” in Portuguese). The article was about journalists that work with information architecture.

I really enjoyed the opportunity to tell a little more about my experience and how my journalism background helps me to work in the field of IA and user experience. “Exp” is a magazine made by the students of PUCRS, one of the most respected Brazilian universities.

I’d like to congratulate all the students and professors involved in this project and thank Yara Tropea for the invitation. It was a honour to join this initiative!

Como eu prometi, uma novidade “não tão nova assim” para compartilhar com vocês! No ano passado eu fui entrevistada por uma revista universitária chamada “Exp” (apelido de “Experiência”). O artigo foi sobre jornalistas que trabalham com arquitetura de informação.

Eu realmente adorei a oportunidade de contar um pouco mais sobre a minha experiência e como o meu background de jornalista me ajuda a trabalhar no campo da AI e user experience. “Exp” é uma revista realizada por estudantes da PUCRS.

Hi all,

finally I’m back! After a month at home due to my broken hand and without using my computer, I have a lot of news to share here!

The first one is that I’m going to Brazil!!! Hooray! I’m already counting the days and I want to make the most of my time. Maybe we should organise some meetings, what do you think?

Another very cool news is that I’ll participate in the Brazilian IA Congress - Ebai with a lecture about Gesture Interfaces. I’ll present a project that we’re doing in partnership with the IUP - International Usability Partners with the objective of studying which are the natural gestures performed by the users in mobile devices with touchscreen. I’m very happy with the opportunity to share some of the experience that I’m having here in Italy… this is great! I want to see

Oi pessoal,

finalmente estou de volta! Depois de um mês em casa por causa da mão quebrada e sem poder usar o computador, estou cheia de novidades para compartilhar por aqui!

A primeira delas é que no mês que vem estarei no Brasil!!! Ebaaaa! Já estou na contagem regressiva! Quero tentar aproveitar ao máximo os meus dias e, claro, agitar alguns encontros, o que vocês acham?

Outra novidade muito legal é que vou participar do Ebai, com uma palestra sobre Gesture Interfaces. Vou apresentar um projeto que estamos desenvolvendo em parceria com a IUP - International Usability Partners com o objetivo de estudar quais são os gestos mais naturais realizados pelos usuários ao utilizar um dispositivo móvel touchscreen. Estou muito feliz com a

After reading the Russell Wilson’s last post, I started to think about the user experience design and what was my role in this “mission”. What is the user experience design to me? Why do I want to work with this? And so on…

So, I decided to share this reflection with all of you:
What about you? What is user experience design to you? Try to write it down, in 20 words or less, in any language you like… being aware that there is no right or wrong answer.

And here is my shot: “It is about understand people, aiming to improve their lifes starting from the small things.”

Em 20 palavras ou menos, o que é “design da experiência do usuário” para você?

Depois de ler o último post do Russell Wilson, eu comecei a pensar sobre o design da experiência do usuário e qual era o meu papel nesta “missão”. O que é o design da experiência do usuário? Por que eu quero trabalhar com isso? E por aí vai…

Então, decidi compartilhar essa reflexão com vocês:
E pra você, o que é o design da experiência do usuário? Tente escrever, em 20 palavras ou menos, em qualquer língua que você quiser… consciente de que não existem respostas certas ou erradas.

E aqui fica o meu palpite: “Diz respeito a entender as pessoas, com o objetivo de melhorar suas vidas, começando com as pequenas coisas.”
